Goooooooal!

Went to my second Venezuelan national soccer game last night. First one was Venz. against Sweden, which Venz. won 2-0. Last night's game was against Chili, Venz. lost this game 0-1. It is a really cool experience going to one of these games, the amount of excitement the fans have for their teams. The stadium is not sold out but you could never tell with the people your around. People pacing up and down the aisles, swearing at the refs, drums going the whole time, confetti in the air, vendors selling mango slices, tequanos, buckets of beer and pepsi. The games are pretty good but the experience is being in the stands with a huge crowd.

I hope to be in Venzuela during at least part of the COPA america which is the tournament that involves most of the major national soccer teams from south and i think central america. it would be really amazing to see Brazil's team play in person. We will see if this will happen.

My next blog will involve opinions of what Chavez is doing down here and comments about this that are taking place in the states. Take care.
